"10 stars!! I'm so grateful to have found Lori in my time of need. My dog has been experiencing some pain off and on for about two years, but it was never consistent or debilitating enough to think it was anything more than just her overdoing it at a playdate or on a hike. However, we moved up to a 3rd floor apartment this past July, and then her pain really revved up at the same time. She was having trouble getting up and down the stairs, jumping into my car, and would limp every single morning. I started looking at massage therapists in the area, and Lori's website really stuck out to me for a few reasons.

The first thing I'll note is the price transparency on her website. As a business owner myself, this is a principle that I hold for myself, and I expect others to do so as well. There were many places that would not list their prices.

But the most important thing was the language she used on her website about going at the animal's pace, not forcing them to obey commands to "stay," and allowing them to walk around or even opt out if they want to at any point. You'd be surprised how many professionals in animal med don't know anything about body language or don't believe in consent. As a professional positive reinforcement dog trainer, my dog's (and every animal's) agency is absolutely paramount for me and a total deal breaker if the treatment provider does not agree or understand.

I knew it would take a little while for my squirrelly dog to adjust to the sessions, but by the third one, she was happy to sit for the entire time. She had a lot of tension in her neck and in her hind quarters apparently, though Lori makes sure to give the whole body some work. I'm ecstatic to report that my dog has not limped in weeks!! She is much more able to jump into the car, though we do have a ramp if/when needed, because at 8 years old she's not exactly a senior but she's not going to get any younger. She now has no trouble with the stairs as well. We were able to take her off her pain medication because of Lori's skilled and compassionate administrations. We will be lifetime clients, because I believe strongly in preventative care and that dogs deserve the same treatment that we humans would do for ourselves when we aren't feeling good. A funny little story: at our most recent session, Bindi completely refused to get up at the end of our 30 minutes. After trying several things to get her going, I sighed, looked at Lori, and said, "how much for an hour?" 😂 That's a testament, because Bindi doesn't like to sit still for too long when she's anywhere but home.If you're still wondering if you should do it: DO IT!! Signed: a dog behavior professional who wants you to know that at least 80% of dogs who have behavior problems have pain!"
